Overview
Group scheduling without the thread: everyone marks available, if necessary or unavailable, and Timelap turns the overlap into a ranked, explainable recommendation, then locks it in and exports it to the calendar. No account needed.
What I built
- →Three-state availability grid with mouse, touch and keyboard editing, plus undo
- →Smart Consensus recommendations scored across the full meeting duration, with the reasoning shown
- →Reusable rooms with stable rosters for recurring groups
- →Sharing, finalization, reminders, dark mode and ICS export
- →WCAG-conscious patterns: focus states, target sizes and reduced motion
Key product decision
Score the whole meeting duration, not single slots, so a recommendation never picks a start time that collides ten minutes in.
Case study notes
Context
Group scheduling becomes the meeting before the meeting: a thread of “Tuesday after 3?” across time zones, and still no decision.
Implementation
I designed an availability grid a guest can fill in under a minute, and a consensus engine that scores every candidate window across the whole meeting duration and explains its pick. Rooms keep a stable roster for groups that meet again.
Current state
Live at timelap.app with no account required: create a poll, share it, see the strongest window and lock it in with a calendar export. Accounts and connected calendars are still in development.
